House Cleaning: 5 Easy Steps To A Cleaner House

house cleaning tipsHouse cleaning is a task that most family members avoid. Cleaning the house is oftentimes tedious, messy, and it takes several hours to finish. Don't you wish there was an easy way to help you do your household chores quick and easy? Don't worry. Discussed in this article is the step by step guide in making your house cleaner in a matter of minutes.

De-clutter. One of the most important rules to follow is to get rid of all clutter in your home. Clutter comes in many different forms--it could be the magazine rack in the corner, a pile of dirty clothes in the bedroom, or disarranged books on a bookshelf. Whatever type of clutter you have on your home, work on it now. For books and other reading materials, arrange them on a shelf, or better yet, keep them out of sight. Pick up all things on the floor and place them in their designated places. Whatever doesn't belong in an area should be returned in its proper place. And yes, it is that simple.

Get rid of dust. The number one keepers of dust in our homes are appliances, furniture, and windows. When removing dust from appliances, always use a feather duster. This way, you won't risk damaging its system. Brush lightly until you get rid of most of the dust. For furniture, take a damp cloth and use it to wipe the exterior. Do not use any cleaners or harsh liquids when wiping furniture. Harmful chemicals can damage it. For glass windows, use a special cleaner. Contact your local store for questions regarding special cleaners for glass windows.

Do the laundry. Doing the laundry doesn't only mean washing your dirty clothes. This also includes dirty curtains, table cloths, and bed sheets. These items, especially the curtains, trap in so much dust that they easily turn brownish in color after a few weeks. Washing them once a month is a great way to show off their bright colors. When a cloth packs up some dust, it loses vibrance, making the color dull.

Vacuum the floor. When all the furniture, curtains, and clutter have been taken cared of, it is now time to clean the floor. Turn on the vacuum cleaner and move your way through every corner of the house. This step is recommended to be done at the later part of the cleaning process. This step also applies to bathroom floors. Use a strong bathroom cleaner or the floors to get rid of any mildew. You can also use a brush and detergent soap to clean up the bathroom floor.

Once you are done with the floors, we now move on to the least considered place for house cleaning--the closet. Most of us don't have the time to de-clutter and organize our own closets. These are one of the most ignored areas of the house, because the inside of a closet is hidden from plain view. Try to fold your clothes neatly, and if you want, you can arrange your clothes according to specific categories.

Cleaning your house should be done at least weekly. This ensures that dust, dirt, and grime won't have the time to stay in your house for too long. They may carry viruses and certain illnesses with them, so it is best to keep all corners of our houses clean.

Start with these basic steps and soon enough you'll find yourself enjoying housework! House cleaning doesn't have to be such a burden; it can actually be fun!
